Sunday Socials
A Hot Meal and a Phone Number Changed a Life
Over the past season, Ridge Church has been hosting monthly Sunday Socials—intentional gatherings designed to help people feel known, build meaningful connections, and find their place in the life of the church.
Thanks to your generous financial support, we’ve been able to offer some free tickets to these events, making it possible for anyone—regardless of their financial situation—to enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal and a welcoming environment.
One of the most moving stories came out of our June Sunday Social. A man came in off the street and was greeted by one of our ushers. That usher not only found him a seat and bought him a meal ticket, but also extended personal care by giving him his phone number. Just this week, we learned that the man followed up. He reached out, curious about faith, and now the two are planning to meet.
Investing in a church where generosity translates into real stories of connection and changed lives!
This is the power of hospitality. Your giving creates moments like this—where all people are welcomed in, where barriers are broken, and where curiosity in a relationship with Jesus is sparked in unexpected ways.
The impact also extends to our Hospitality Team—24 dedicated volunteers who faithfully serve each month. These Socials give them a tangible way to use their gifts to bless others. And with attendance growing (we’re preparing to serve 200 people this fall, up from 150).
Alpha
Gathered at the Table, Changed by Jesus
This years first run of our new-look Alpha program saw not only more than 50 guests joining us, but more than 40 choosing to serve as table hosts, helpers, and on our meal and hospitality team.
We were amazed at the response to Alpha, with stories of people from all sorts of backgrounds coming to faith in Jesus - from our Farsi-speaking table who took a huge step into the waters of baptism, to a group of those in their 20's forming a new community group of Young Adults, to one man who encountered Jesus for the first time on our Alpha Day Together, proclaiming that he wanted to surrender his life the this Messiah - and is in the process of baptism alongside his wife.
This is just the beginning - with our core team already formed, planning and praying towards the relaunch of Alpha in the fall and an expectation of even more guests joining us each week. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our church family. Your giving helped provide meals, resources, and a welcoming environment where people could ask questions, build friendships, and ultimately meet Jesus. Ridge Kids
Where Faith Begins Early
Because of your generosity, Ridge Kids continues to be a place where children grow in faith and families experience the love of Jesus in practical, memorable ways. One of the incredible blessings your giving supports is our Video & Production Lead Staff, who records our Sunday services so that over 125 Ridge Kids volunteers can serve during the gatherings and still be spiritually nourished later. This simple but powerful resource allows our team to stay connected to the life of the church while faithfully pouring into the next generation.
Your giving also makes it possible for us to provide creative, hands-on crafts each week that help kids—from Nursery to Grade 5— engage deeply with biblical truths in fun and meaningful ways. And one of the kids’ favourite parts of Sundays? The Bible Bucks Store.
Thanks to your generosity, the store stays stocked with small toys and treats that reward children for memorizing scripture, bringing their Bibles to church, and helping their leaders. It’s a joyful and tangible way to reinforce Christlike character and commitment.
