What is Child Dedication?
At Ridge Church, we believe that children are a gift from God. Child dedication is a special moment where parents publicly commit to raising their child to know, love, and follow Jesus. It’s a declaration of your intent to lead your child in faith, while also inviting your church community to support, pray for, and walk alongside your family.
What is the difference between Dedication and Baptism?
While different church traditions view these practices differently, at Ridge we believe child dedication and baptism serve distinct purposes. Dedication is a commitment made by the parents on behalf of their child—to raise them in the ways of Jesus. Baptism, on the other hand, is a personal decision made by an individual as a public declaration of their faith in Christ.
